About this project
Cobden House is a Grade II listed building originally constructed in 1880 as The Cobden Working Men’s Club. AS Studio was first appointed in 2011 to secure consent for converting the building into two apartments and one townhouse (with RPS Planning and Development Ltd). Although this consent was granted, the building was later sold with the unexpired approval. In 2012, the new owner reappointed AS Studio to develop a completely new scheme, transforming the property into a single-family dwelling and securing listed building consent once again.
AS Studio was appointed as the architect for the project, delivering full interior architecture and project management alongside planning, tender, construction, and detailed drawings, as well as site supervision through to completion. The scheme carefully balances the preservation of the building’s historic character with refined architectural interventions, creating a cohesive and functional home.
